A Tale of Six Townships

Welcome to the Neighbourhoods…

Surrey is the fastest growing city in BC. Each month, twelve hundred new residents moving to the region, which is why it’s no wonder that the municipality has six very distinct town centres…

THE 104

Guildford is home to Guildford Town Centre, the province’s second largest shopping mall. If that’s not enough, great hotels, countless restaurants and popular regional parks (Tynehead & Surrey Bend) make The 104 worth visiting.

THE CENTRE

Formerly known as Whalley & City Centre, North Surrey is the area’s urban heartbeat. Featuring famous architecture like City Centre Library and the Simon Fraser University campus, it’s a shining example of a developing community; but nothing is more impressive than the new city hall. This two hundred thousand square foot building features a Plaza, a performing arts venue and new rental spaces. The Centre is also home to the new Central City Brewery & Distillery, famous for their delicious Red Racer beer.

THE WOOD

Welcome to Surrey’s primarily residential community! Centrally positioned, Fleetwood boasts numerous parks and schools as well as many other amenities like the Surrey Sport & Leisure Complex, the Fleetwood Community Centre and Fleetwood Gardens – home to Surrey’s only labyrinth.

THE DALE

Historic Cloverdale is home to Surrey’s museum and archives as well as the Cloverdale Millennium Amphitheatre and Fairgrounds. Many feature films and TV shows have used this area for film locations, too. Cloverdale is the front-face of Surrey’s agricultural heritage too, with May long weekend’s Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair, one of its biggest attractions.

NEWTON

Newton is known for Newton Wave Pool, home to two waterslides plus Vancouver’s only air-conditioned climbing gym, Coastal Climbing Centre. But there’s more than just recreation here. Culture vultures can enjoy the Bell Performing Arts Centre and the Newton Cultural Centre, hubs for the local Arts Community. Newton also hosts a Vaisakhi Parades that attracts over 200 thousand visitors!

THE SOUTH

South Surrey is a picturesque community featuring beaches, parks and mountain vistas. Check out Serpentine Fen Wildlife Area and Redwood Park, which has the largest grove of Redwood trees north of California. Other attractions include beaches and golf courses, not to mention amazing shopping at The Shops at Morgan Crossing and Grandview Corner.
