Adventurous Spins on Date Night

Looking for date ideas but you’ve grown tired of the dinner and a movie dance? We feel you. Don’t get us wrong, a great meal topped off with popcorn and an hour and a half of phone-free time is pretty awesome, but there are occasions when we’re in the mood for something a little more daring. After all, dates are all about getting to know you beau, or making memories with your significant other, so why not turn your date-night an all out adventure? Keep reading for some of our most spunkiest date night ideas in Surrey.

Fun & Games

If you’re the type that likes to be up and active, sharing the experience of picking up a new sport or hobby with someone new is a great way to connect. Why not take a walk on the wild side and try Axe Throwing. It’s exactly what it’s called, throwing axes (with instruction, of course) at targets. It sounds a lot easier than it really is, but you never know, you may just hit a bulls-eye with your date. You could also try your hand at a little archery, open to the public on Monday and Thursday evenings on their indoor range. A fun group date idea involves coupling up with your partner and heading to Panther Paintball for a round of colourful and friendly paintball.

Parks & Rec

Did you know that hidden within Surrey’s parks are little treasures just waiting to be found? Discover something new about your favourite park by going on a good old-fashioned geocache hunt. All you need to do is download the Geocache app, follow the hints, and the find hidden packages. Not only is it super fun hunting for well-hidden geocaches, but you’ll go off the beaten path to see some stunning vistas. If hiking isn’t quite your speed, Surrey’s parks are perfect for a beautiful bike ride. Take a quick 5 minute ferry ride to Barnston Island: the perfect scenery for a 9.7km island-round cycle along the farmland and river.

Food & Drink

A good meal with great company is always a good idea, but since it’s a little extra pep we’re lusting after, these are no ordinary restaurant recommendations. For those who love a good jam and can carry a tune, pair your dinner with a little Karaoke at Kpop Karaoke Restaurant (duets are always a good idea). For an all-day date idea, hop on Surrey’s incoming BC Ale Trail that travels across New Westminster, Delta, and Surrey, with a great mix of craft brews, complimentary meals, and adventurous activities.
