Barnston Island
This little hidden gem on the Fraser is the perfect bikers paradise, and awesome for younger children. The unique part of Barnston is that the only way to reach it is by ferry! The ferry is free and runs continuously by demand. The island is quiet, flat, and it is only around 12km in circumference. There is no parking on the island so it is recommended that you walk onto the ferry with your bike and leave your car behind. Pack up a picnic and go for a day trip away from the hustle of big city Surrey!

Mud Bay Park
Mud Bay Park is a secluded strip off of Highway 99. It has a long and wide gravel road perfect for a walk or a bike ride. There is a lot of parking in the parking lot at the park. The path is linear so if you’re in the mood for a long commitment, it is actually possible to keep on riding into the neighbouring city of Delta all the way to Point Roberts! Otherwise, we recommend timing yourself and knowing when to turn back to return to your starting point at the parking lot. It is the route that is farthest away from the city so make sure to bring plenty of water!
